Mobile Applications
After
my tutorial, my supervisor advised me to do a mobile application, but I should
focus on the illustrated book and then make a mock up of the app. This is because
I have to research and explore mobile applications, not only travel apps but
also all kind of apps as well. And then I can be inspired by the apps which I
like and develop them in my project.

Tutorial
Today
I had a tutorial with my supervisor again. I showed her three boards: target
audiences, travel related and travel market research. The three boards helped
me to explore and gain experience about my project. The important thing is I
can narrow my target and my style.

Travel Books from Thailand
My
dad sent travel books from Thailand to me. Here are some examples. There are a
lot of travel books in Thailand in Thai language. There are varieties of travel
books in the Thai market these days, but they target just Thai people. This
inspired me to do my project. I would like to promote my hometown to
foreigners.
Bangkok travel books
I
went to some book stores last week and I found travel and guide books. There is
the same pattern and layout in these books. Moreover, there is only text and
pictures, they lack interest. Here are examples of a travel books that I bought
in Waterstones and WHSmith.

My supervisor
advised me to see Pinterest. Actually, I have had an account on Pinterest for
long time, but I did not use and explore it. This time I looked it on website
and mobile application. I explored it via my mobile and it is very useful and
interesting.
Pinterest is a pinboard-style photo sharing website that allows users to
create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests,
hobbies, and more. Users can browse other pinboards for inspiration,’re-pin'
images to their own collections or 'like' photos. The site was founded by Ben Silbermann (of West Des Moines, Iowa), Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp, the site is managed by Cold Brew Labs and funded by a small group of
entrepreneurs and inventors.

First presentation
Today
I had my first presentation. I was so excited and worried about it at the same
time. After the presentation, my supervisors advised me to research more and
think about my audience. They said my illustrations are not for young people so
I have to try another style. One more thing, they suggested was about the
attractions in Bangkok. I should scope it and focus on some places - especially
undiscovered places.

Travel books
I went to WH Smith
and Waterstone bookstores today. I found some travel books, and I saw that all
have only text and pictures. So, my project wants to be different. :)
