How to make Thai fabrics

In my last blog, I wrote about a Thai fabric shop in my hometown. Here is a video about it.

Here are some pictures of Thai cotton that they sell at Chansen museum.

As you can see that, all of Thai fabrics always create the pattern by diamond.

Visit to a Thai fabric shop

Today I went to a Thai fabric shop in my hometown of Bangkok. This is a Thai fabric museum called "Chansen". There were many patterns of Thai fabric, created and developed by native people in Nakornsawan which is a province in the north of Thailand. The Thai silk was hand made. I took a video that shows how to make it; they weave Thai silk by themselves. Most of the fabrics here are made from cotton.

Seminar with my friends

According to my last tutorial, I have some problems about my style, so I showed my project to all my classmates and asked them that which one is better. Most of my friends liked the second one, but one thing important is they really love the Thai pattern that I used in my illustrations. This time I showed them about my project and how to use it when they travel.

Storyboard workshop

Today I have a storyboard workshop. I have to create a storyboard about my project. I plan that I would like to make a video which presents all the Bangkok attractions that I choose to show in my guide book. This workshop will help me to do it. It will help me know about the jargon for using in the film such as cut, cu, mcu etc.

Film storyboard:
- short size
- short duration
-shot movement
- dialogue
- music
- effects
- visual effects

Thai fabrics

This is an example of Thai fabrics. I would like to use some of the patterns of these fabrics in my project because Thai fabrics are interesting and it looks very Thai. So, today I tried to create some patterns inspired from Thai fabrics.

As you can seen that the pattern of Thai fabrics are made up of line, geometry, or serration. I researched something of the origins:
 1. line is developed to the pattern about agriculture
2. Serration is developed to form
3. Crosses and diamonds are developed to form and pattern in form
4. Spirals are developed to pattern in form as well.
